A beautiful yet subtle santo that was hand carved and what was once hand painted. His face, in my opinion, is exquisite. Made of bone, his expression is sensitive and sad. On closer inspection, you can see where the paint was, now having faded into bare existence. His hands, possibly made of the same bone as the face, are now gone.
As to his origin, hard to say. I'm open to suggestions.
Measurements are 13 1/2" high while the base is 5 3/4" wide.
