A magnificent, very old elephant bell on a wooden stand held in place by leather. The patina is to die for and the sound registers better in person. It has a deeper ring tone!
As its name suggests, they were used on elephants as a warning for pedestrians in crowded streets or to assist finding domesticated elephants when out grazing. They were also used for parades and of course, as an instrument.
Great to call dinner guests to the dining room or in the garden.
